GTMS gets Mallorca Rocks ready to roll

One of the coolest and most renowned hotel brands in the Balearics brought a leading event branding and production company on board to brand and theme a new music venue hotel.

The Ibiza Rocks brand and Big Active, which oversaw the design element, enlisted GTMS to get the new Mallorca Rocks Hotel ready for its opening this month.

As GTMS' second installation for the Ibiza Rocks brand in the last two years, following the rebrand of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio, Ibiza. The new Magaluf complex follows the same trend as Ibiza Rocks, offering 18-30 year olds an opportunity to stay at one of the island's trendiest hotels with six live music events throughout the year staging local and international rock and indie bands.

GTMS' role included installing 180m of pink LED inset floor and ceiling feature in the main reception and backstage bar area, which was a ‘first' for the team. The main entrance now features lines and angles of hot pink light carved into the seamless grey floor resin.

Dawn Hindle, the architect and designer for the Ibiza Rocks project said, "The new hotel complex looks incredible and the talented GTMS team has once again pulled out all the stops to ensure the Ibiza Rocks brand offers the coolest and most original music hotel venue.

"The attention to detail is fantastic and GTMS undertook the Majorca Rocks installation with expertise, enthusiasm and great skill," added Dawn.

The GTMS team also manufactured a giant 2m plectrum shaped logo from aluminium, constructed an 18m wide x 1m height sign for the front of the Mallorca Rocks hotel.
Additional branding and signage supplied by GTMS included flag and poles, directional signage, room numbers, neon signs, wallpapering and window vinyls.

Dominik Short, Director of Hampshire based GTMS said, "This was a fantastic project to work on and was completed by a specialist team of six in just eight days, despite major transport delays and disruptions due to the volcanic ash cloud airport closures. We are extremely pleased with the completed complex especially as it features a number of ‘firsts' for us."
